Tom Pausma

I am originally from Fond du Lac, WI where I went to high school before attending UW-Milwaukee for undergrad. At UWM I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology. Then, I moved to Boston where I went to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Tufts University offered a wide range of opportunities to learn the art and science of dentistry. In 2016, I graduated with my DMD and promptly moved back to Wisconsin. Since then I have developed a wide range of clinical skills in New Glarus, Jefferson, and Watertown.

I consider myself to be a lifelong learner, and since graduating I have accumulated over 500 hours in continuing education, with a focus on Implant Surgery and Dental Sleep Medicine. In 2021, I will be taking courses and examinations to become a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, and to become a Qualified Dentist in the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

I really enjoy the day-to-day variety that comes with being a general dentist. In one visit I can be precisely bonding cosmetic restorations that enhance a patient’s smile, and in the next visit be reliving a patient’s pain through a tooth extraction or root canal therapy. I believe all kinds of procedures can have positive impacts on patient’s lives.

I met my wife, Gina in Boston. Together we moved to Madison in 2016 and have loved being here. We take advantage of the many parks throughout the state, hiking, biking, and snowshoeing are among our favorite outdoor activities. Gina’s Italian family has sparked a love for cooking, we often cook together and my personal hobby is using my pellet smoker as much as possible. Our French Bulldog, Bernie keeps us entertained and has become the official mascot of 608 Family Dental.

Gina and I look forward to planting our roots in the Sun Prairie community, and to make a difference in the lives of the people who call Sun Prairie home.

What I love about dentistry is working and interacting with people, improving their health and confidence, self-awareness esteem in dental health. I love going above and beyond for Dentists, coworkers, and patients helping restore smiles, connecting, and building trust. The variety of people and procedures that fill my days lead to interesting and enjoyable experiences. There’s never an end to new knowledge and I love sharing maintaining proper Oral health.

I grew up in Monona Wisconsin in a large family, surrounded by a lot of great family and friends. I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, especially grandchildren. We do a lot of trips up North. In my spare time, I love antiques, refinishing, long walks, and reading. But most of all I love being with and working with people.

Dentistry continues to excite me with every patient I am fortunate enough to meet. Great dentistry is important to me because it means you’ve received the highest level of care and compassion we can offer and everyone deserves that!

I live in Beaver Dam with my boyfriend Derek. For fun, I enjoy drinking coffee, crafting, and thrifting.
